This painting reminds us of the Lincolnshire Fens, and was inspired during our ornithological expedition to Hungary. The oil painting, and giclees, are available.
Peter was on an ornithological expedition to Hungary, helping with a project to monitor and protect Great Bustard nests. They nest on the ground, in crops, and the eggs are in danger of being destroyed during the harvesting period. This scene was near the Romanian border and, within minutes, we were in the middle of an intense hail storm.
