This painting of Heckington Fen is looking towards Boston, and was painted from the east bank of the river Slea. Heckington is about six miles east of Sleaford and has an attractive church, built from Ancaster stone, and is similar to St. Deny’s chuch in Sleaford.
On the opposte side of the river Slea, to the west, there is an interesting brick built tower.
