Beech Cottage is about 150 yards to the east, at the top of the shared drive, between No.2 and No. 6 Church Street.

At Work:

Painting "Castle Square, Lincoln"

Peter enjoys painting “live” out of doors, but he also uses his studio when that is not possible. A typical example was when he received a commission to paint a 4′ x 5′ canvas of “Lincoln Cathedral, from Castle Square”. Naturally, that was too large to paint in the often windy Castle Square! His series of paintings based on expeditions to Kenya and Tanzania also fall into that category, but for different reasons!

From time to time Peter has been asked to help with school art projects in Cornwall and St Albans, which he enjoyed. In May 1998 BBC Leeds featured Peter in a series titled “Guns & Roses” at his first solo exhibition in Lincoln and the BBC kindly gave their permission to use that recording in this web site, but that has not yet been included!

 Comments From Exhibition Visitors:

Lake Illawara, Australia

Peter always leaves a visitors-book for people to sign when they visit his exhibitions and most leave unsolicited messages, which he finds quite humbling, but encouraging.

Since 1998 he has received over 540 comments, and a few extracts are included here, mainly from people whom he had never met before:

“A wonderful selection of paintings; all are so different but equally beautiful”- L&JC.

Crowned Cranes, Kenya

“Very well done – an impressive range of subjects given excellent treatment.” – AF.

“There is something special about seeing someone’s art – Thank you.” – AN.

“You have captured the spirit of Africa – I was born there.” – CA.
